For the Parents
Parents are a very important part of the college planning process. We know that this can be an overwhelming time for parents and their students. In order to help guide you through the process of getting your child ready to head to college, we've attempted to answer some of the questions you may have.
Below are the answers to actual questions asked by parents. The questions are broken into two groups: one covers questions that you might have pertaining to ADVANCE, while the other covers questions that you may have pertaining to the school year. (In some cases, the questions will be found in both areas.)
Questions that relate to ADVANCE:
- We're coming from out of town. Where do all of the parents stay when they come to ADVANCE?
- What does my son/daughter need to do to prepare for ADVANCE?
- Is my son/daughter locked into the area of interest (major) that they currently have?
- What should I do to get ready for ADV?
- I have questions about financial aid. Will that be covered at Advance? Who should I talk to?
- As my son/daughter is planning their schedule, what sort of things do I need to know about or do to help them out? How many hours should they plan on taking?
- Where can I learn more about my son or daughter's major?
- What is the best meal plan for my son/daughter?
- I need to change the number of people in my family that are planning to be at ADVANCE. Who should I contact?
Questions that relate to the school year:
-
- What if my son or daughter is undecided about a major/area of interest when they come to Lipscomb?
- How much will it cost for my son/daughter to attend Lipscomb?
